After the ecstasy; laundry.

Very well written and stated. If you leave off “mystic” you are just a radical. That can mean anything, and for most listeners, nothing good. So you have to be a radical something, and mystic is as good as any as a word to describe who we are. My spiritual director calls me a mystic, but I am reluctant to label myself. It feels like wearing a rank or something. Calling myself a mystic feels like I am implying to myself I am special in some way. I’m not. I do laundry, too, Clare. I think we do see reality a little differently, though. That is important, but not distinctive. I was asking her maybe I’m just crazy. She also told me the difference between mystics and psychotics is that mystics know who to tell the stories to. So I can’t say I am a mystic, but I know I am different from the usual Christian in many ways. I think it great you call yourselves “Radical Mystics.” It caught my attention and allowed me to venture into your realm of possible kindred spiritness(?). I wouldn’t mind at all someone labeling me a radical mystic, I kinda like it! My publisher labels me a mystical philosopher. OK. I just know and want to share in some way the radical love, acceptance, and forgiveness of Jesus and His Holy Spirit in me. So I continue to share my stories and watch carefully for that gleam of interest and understanding, versus that wide-eyed pupillary dilatation that says “next come the white coat guys”. I look so much forward to the sharing on this site. Thanks for being here.
